I feel weird saying this, but it’s in the US constitution that if the government stops being by the people for the people, and starts limiting rights guaranteed therein unjustly, American citizens have the right to overthrow the government.
We are getting a nice list of grievances…shutting down the internet is only one of many, remember.
So if the SOPA bill is passed tomorrow:

SOPA is not being further discussed until Febuary so voting on the bill is a long ways away. The PIPA vote is on January 24th (but it has much new opposition in the Senate as of Wednesday.).
Even if they pass it will take a while for them to go into law, in the order of at least a month. So there is no reason for such a panic. Just make sure your representatives know you oppose the bill, help in further protests. It won’t pass if we fight it.
